Summer Youth Weeks Camp Update (May 1, 2020)

The power of camp is enormous in the life of a teenager. Time spent away, focusing on God and building community in their youth ministry can be life changing. Those who have attended BeDoTell Youth Weeks at Caswell can’t wait for camp, and that is perhaps truer than ever in the midst of COVID-19. This virus has been affecting so much for all of us.

With the new congregant guidelines from our governor, it has become apparent that we cannot hold camp in the traditional way for summer this year. We have made the difficult decision to cancel the June weeks of camp.

As of today, we now plan to have five weeks of camp beginning July 13 to Aug. 13. However, in order to provide everyone with the best opportunity to have a camp experience and based on responses to a recent survey of registered youth leaders, the decision has been made that these weeks will be shorter.

Each church that previously scheduled for Youth Weeks in July or August will still have their reservation for their particular week. You will arrive on Monday but leave on Thursday before lunch. There will then be an abbreviated camp, Friday night to Sunday morning, leaving before lunch. We realize this change will affect you all. Please understand that this decision was made to help as many groups as possible have a chance to attend camp and to make the camp experience this summer more affordable for all groups.

Details will be released by email for those already registered as well as further answers given on a zoom call on Wednesday, May 6 at 11 a.m.
